I checked this bed on Sunday and there was nothing showing - yesterday (Wednesday) I found these already up and flowering!
Crossyne flava originally grown from seed from Silver Hill Seeds,

Fermi,
That is beautiful. This is one of my favourite bulbs although None of mine have flowered yet. I have a few small bulbs and one large bulb which I am hoping to see a flower this year. I also have a number of small Crossyne guttata bulbs.

Crossyne sp. in the hills around here. I have yet to see them in flower but, the seed heads are fascinating and, those seeds are now young plants in my collection! ::) ;D

Hi Rogan,
How wonderful to be able to see them in the wild! Currently we only have Crossyne flava (see above)?
We only have five flowering size bulbs at present - a couple of the second generation may flower next autumn - but we get well over a thousand seed produced! I took a lot to Europe in 2013 when we attended the 2nd International Czech Rock Garden Conference and distributed it to any takers. I wonder how they are going?
This year I gave most of the crop to a nurseryman friend of mine as he is always giving me free bulbs! I have to collect the seed heads as soon as they ripen otherwise they scatter their seeds and they would soon become a carpet of seedlings!
cheers
