Chas, your first pic showing a sea of Irises is simply stunning.

Thanks for posting Chas, beautiful.

Well done Alan and thanks for showing us Chas, some beauties there.
-
wow what a sight!
Who had the Iris display?
-
It was Jaques Amand,(not sure I've spelt that right)
-
Fabulous!

Alan could have talked for hours, but only had an hour slot, and they did signal to him when his time was up......................................shame

How wonderful to see these. How I wish I could have been there. Thanks for sharing these pictures Chas. ;D

Lesley - have a look at Jon Evan's pictures too (under events lower down). These irises were just amazing. I suppose the question is, how many will make such good garden plants as 'Katherine Hodgkin' (?) which is flowering brilliantly with us at the moment and persists well in the garden. Certainly worth playing and experimenting with conditions to find what suits these 'reticulatas' best.

Thanks Tim, I'll do that now. :)

Chas
When he was asked to speak, he thought he could mange 20 minutes. John Amand said he had 30 minutes. In the event he spoke easily for one hour. a real treat for all present.
Thanks for the photos - I found I had left my small camera in the car :(
