Brian brought in Pulsatilla occidentalis sown 16/1/15 seedlings through today the first of many I hope.
-
That's a happy beginning , Shelagh - hope they're all as keen.
-
But will it be what it says on the tin :P I've had it a few times from the Exchanges and it's been wrong every time, hope you're lucky Shelagh.
-
I have never succeeded in germinating P. occidentalis, even though I have collected the seeds myself on our local mountaintops. Shelagh, how did you germinate it? Outdoors in the cold?
-
Good news Shelagh, I'm getting paranoid , sown about 50 varieties, and no sign of anything yet >:(
regards to Brian and look forward to seeing you both at the shows

Gene all our seed pots go into the unheated garage till they germinate. It has been freezing or thereabouts for 2 weeks.
David how long before I know if it's right or not?

If your seed came from LoriS it will certainly be true.

Cyclamen graecum (wild collected) and C. persicum puniceum ex JJA 0.366.552 just coming through. Seed sown at 15-ish C in the dark on 30 January.
-
Primula florindae in orange/red shades are germinating here as well as the yellow form.
Also, Androsace carnea.
All sown on 19 Jan.

Pleased with the progress of these P. florindae seedlings and the fact that our new garden has a couple of relatively sheltered and moist spots where they may do ok.
