hi Paul,this plant is not a man-made hybrid and i bought it from a local herb medicine market. P. praecox and P. yunnanensis is unlikely to hybird in the nature due to their different flowering times.
the flowering time of this plant may be another factor that misleading you. the plant shoud not flower in January if i didn't put it in a artificial climate chamber which the temperature is 25℃.
today i got a clue about what exactly this plant is. it seems to have to be called pleione x christianii,although it differs from the common ones.
it is the rest of the plants that enlightened me. two more bulbs flowered today(see the attached pictures). it turn out bo be the white form of P. forrestii !! That explains a shot stem, long floral bract and entire lamellae flower. one of the parent of this plant is P. forrestii var. alba other than the yellow form P. forrestii ,so the offspring only exhibit the pink colour of the other parent P. yunnanensis.
