Out of curiosity I planted a single tuber of this species in a pot in my South African bulb plunge (never drops below 3C) -predictably it has flowered very early but at least it isn't too straggly (yet!).

on the last shot, flower looks like a snake!

WOW.... Udo & Jan, stunning 'pops'
-
My first white Corydalis solida, it is 'White Swallow'.
Some days before Corydalis malkensis in full flower and with a more cold white.
-
Corydalis malkensis here is just going into seed. Lots of green pods amongst the flowers. Decision time, leave, collect or destroy? A neighbour has several square meters white with them starting with just 1 pot not that many years ago.

Corydalis sp. A dwarf high altitude Chinese scree species which elevates its flowers on stalks but otherwise remains compact. It dislikes summer heat or winter wet.

Wonderful blue corydalis, Steve!
I had tried C.cashmeriana once but it died the first winter, if I ever get another plant I will try to grow it in even more winter dry place.
I got this corydalis as 'Korn's Purple', but looking at the pictures in Ian Young's latest bulb log I'm starting to think if this is Corydalis capitata?
I don't mind if it is, because it is a nice plant and the first to start to flower from this kind of Corydalis. C.flexuosa hybrids are soon beginning to flower also.
