Title: Snowdrop Fan from Switzerland?
Post by: Gartentexte on November 13, 2014, 12:53:38 PM
Dear Snowdrop fans,

I am a garden journalist from Switzerland responsible for gardenvideo series on NZZ online (the most renowned Swiss newspaper).

For January/February I'd like to present a snowdrop collector in Switzerland, but haven't found one so far. That's why I get in touch with you. Do you know anybody in Switzerland who has a nice Galanthus collection to show? I would be very glad to get to know this person.

By the way, the videos I produce can be watched here:

Just click on the title and you will get to the right page.

Thank you so much for your support!

To be frank, I do not believe there is a well-known snowdrop collector in Switzerland.  The book ' Galanthomania' by Hanneke van Dijk has profiles of many well-known snowdrop collectors but I do not believe that anyone from Switzerland is featured.  It's possible that there may be someone in Switzerland who reads this forum but does not contribute to it, in which case you will have to hope that they contact you directly.

It is likely that the people who know best about Swiss snowdrop collectors are the commercial snowdrop growers.  Maybe Maxine from Avon Bulbs can comment if there is anyone from Switzerland that they supply to, although I'm sure she would not want to actually name names.

Dear all

as I promised, I send you news about my video project. With the following link you can watch the portrait about Ingrid Dingwall who collects snowdrops. It's in german, but you might like the pictures of Ingrid's lovely garden:

Just caught up with this, although I don't think the link above works anymore, I googled it!  Sarah the film is great and Ingrid, your snowdrops look lovely!
