Title: Meeting of the Prague Rock Garden Club at Nove Hrady
Post by: ruweiss on October 26, 2014, 07:32:01 PM
The Prague Club had the usual annual meeting from 17. to 19. 10. at Nove Hrady in Southern
Bohemia near the Austrian border. We had a real nice time in the Chateau with a marathon
of lectures, good food and Czech beer.
A nice surprise was the pre-celebration of the 60. birthday of plantsman Vojtech Holubec.
Everbody got a piece of the birthday cake with the Soldanella and Vojtech offered a glas of
fine Irish Whiskey.
The Chateau is setted in s beautiful landscape park and the nearby village has an old medieval
castle and many historical buildings.

The annual Czech-German Rockgarden Meeting was at the 9. November at the Botanical Garden of Würzburg.
We had a nice time together with interesting lectures from Zdenek Zvolanek, Michael Kammerlander and Thomas Eidmann.
An interesting offer of fine plants satisfied many of the freaks.
Beside the Czech delegation with ZZ, Josef Jurasek, Milan Halada and Josef Halda were some guests from
the Netherlands,Denmark and Switzerland.
Since some years this meeting is every year in different places; Feuchtwangen, BG Würzburg and
BG Tuebingen.

Thanks for the information, Rudi.  These meetings must be great fun to meet with friends and  speak plants!
