Marcus Harvey has written an article on some of the winter gold we get here:

I think many Forumist/croconuts would enjoy it!

I rather think you're right, Marcus is trying to encourage more folks to try new plants.

Hi Everyone,
There is one glaring factual error in my piece that needs to be corrected. Crocus chrysanthus "Sunspot" is not related to the newly named Crocus muglaensis. It seemed vaguely right at the time I was writing it and I put the piece aside for a while and forgot to fact check before publishing. The only other thing I should say is technically it is incorrect to say that yellow doesn't appear before winter. But my clientele is NEVER going to see C. scharojanii let alone try and grow it.
That's all I want to say and I don't presently don't want to enter into any further discussion about the article.
Thanks, Marcus

Thanks Marcus - I don't doubt that your encouraging article will help to get folks interested in the world of Crocus - we need more of the like to open eyes to the possibilities of these little charmers in just about any garden. 8)

Thanks Maggi.
Why do we love them so much? They give us hope, they delight us, they surprise us, and they beguile us with their exquisite beauty. In short they are good for our soul. Yellow is the color of hope and happiness and it is the color of the sun so each little flower is a little ray of sunshine.
Cheers, Marcus
