Got this Lilium without a name from a friend and would be grateful for
an identification by the experts.

I can't see if it is making stem bulbils - perhaps Lilium lancifolium var. flaviflorum ?

Maggi, this plant has stem bulbils.

You may want to reserve your ID for another year and see what happens. The fact that it is upfacing says it is likely hybrid.

I agree with Rick. But it's darn close to lancifolium. And it's blooming at about the right time for lancifolium.
