At various times across the forum the subject of the Registration of Plant ( cultivar) names has cropped up - on this page (http://www.ishs.org/sci/icralist/icralist.htm) you will find a list of the registrars for a range of plants from ICRAS : International Cultivar Registration Authorities - this is part of the ISHS site (http://www.ishs.org/) ( the Institute for Horticultural Science)
Hortax, formed in 1988, is a small committee of plant taxonomists and horticulturists with a professional interest in the classification and nomenclature of cultivated plants. The Hortax site (http://www.hortax.org.uk/) may also be helpful for taxonomic questions.
