Can anyone suggest where I might be able to obtain a few black plastic crates as used by nurseries etc?
See the second pic in this post for they type I mean: http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=9420.msg306344#msg306344 (http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=9420.msg306344#msg306344)
It would be handy to have a few to tidy up the growing number of seed pots I have lying around ::)
Thanks folks,

I seem to have 'acquired' a number of green supermarket crates which come in very useful for all sorts of things. I suppose that Benbecula is lucky and Tesco still haven't arrived there yet!

Tesco has made it to Stornoway, but nowhere else in the Western Isles, thankfully!
It's amazing what washes up on the beaches here, and I'm keen on collecting and making use of as much as I can. In fact, a couple of the very same crates I'm looking for have washed up on occasion (with attendant marine life attached) but I'd have to wait a long time for as many as I need to wash up :)

Matt - The time to get them at nurseries here is when the shipments of spring and/or autumn bulbs arrive in late winter or summer. Most commonly from BC or Holland packed with daffs or tulips. They get over-run with them in time and are happy to have takers.

Thanks for these suggestions. Unfortunately I don't need a full pallet-load of 70, only 10 or so. Think I'll have to wait until I'm next at a nursery and beg some off them if they have any surplus.
Many thanks.

LBS (along with many others) hammer the Scottish Islands with excessive postal charges. We don't object to a modest increase to cover costs, but often they are out of all proportion.

Or simply refuse to supply >:( I've never been affected although my brother was when he lived on Islay. I usually check out firm's delivery policy and do my best not to give my business to these discriminatory outfits.
