Myddleton had tended to do well by being the first event of the snowdrop season and being held in a reasonably accessible location. I think the first Myddleton House Snowdrop Sale was in 2012 and was on the 4th February that year. It was a bitterly cold day, I remember. In 2013 the date was 26th January and the sale has been held in January ever since. I think the date of this year's event, 23rd January 2016, was the earliest ever. Now Myddleton has decided on the last Saturday in January for the next three years. This will be fine unless some other enterprising individual or organization decides to steal their thunder and get in with a snowdrop sale a week earlier.

Perhaps as it is the day that Roger Harvey normally has his sale he will have it a week earlier to avoid the clash?

Yes, Brian, that did cross my mind - but I'm not sure if his venue would attract the European high-rollers that are drawn to the Myddleton House sale. He's not too far from Harwich or Felixstowe, I suppose.
Roger Harvey has held some sort of snowdrop event for many years but the format and the timing has not remained constant. I'm trying to remember how long he has been holding his marquee sale with other vendors. Is it the last four years? I imagine Roger will adapt if he wants to continue.

Indeed, especially as I can't see Glen Chantry, Woodchippings and Rainbow Farm, all of whom got to both, giving up Myddelton

I bet they sell more snowdrops at Myddleton House than they do at Roger's sale. But the fact that Roger Harvey's event is less fraught and less crowded is easier on the attendee. Although at Myddleton House there's a gorgeous garden to wind-down in afterwards.

Yes, go on Brian ...

Does anyone know of any field trips going to Europe either shows or sales from the UK - I am too much of a coward to go by myself - my ignorance of the languages is the main factor.
