I don't have a lawn as such but I have some grass paths and an area where bulbs and spring flowers have been allowed to naturalise. So I need something that can cope with very long grass and somewhat uneven terrain. I usually start with a strimmer then continue with a hover mower but yesterday I tried to miss-out the strimmer stage and killed my hover mower on an unseen tree root. The total area I need to cut is not large (30 sq. m?). Should I buy another cheap Flymo on the basis that it will be abused and not last many years or is there something more robust I can use?
