I saw this aquilegia in a garden I visited yesterday. The owner had forgotten the name can anyone help I'd it please?
-
The aquilegia looks to be A. viridiflora, think it is also known as Chocolate Soldier.
Mine are scented.
-
I agree with Helen - and A. viridiflora has a really wonderful scent - yet another of my favourites!
-
Sure enough, that's it! Many thanks, I'll get seed and grow it next year. Lovely thing, and if it's scented too, a bonus!
-
Chris, I put seed of A. viridiflora into the exchange last year. Did you get any?? If you missed out, I could send you some this year. As the others say, the scent is wonderful.

Hi Matt
I keep a list of seeds I'm after but somehow forgot to put it on my 2015 list so didn't order any. If you have some id love to try it. I love aquilegias.....

Hi Chris, everything I had from last year went to the Seed Ex. So I'll be sure to keep a look out for seed later this year. The plants are just waking up from their winter slumber now.

I'm hopeless... Thought I'd got myself a system to remember what I need to get and again, it failed miserably. At least I no longer rely on my memory.... I'll watch for it this year and will start my 2016 list today! Thanks....
