Title: a species from Pakistan
Post by: Rafa on April 24, 2014, 11:37:50 PM
Hello

This is a picture from my friend Mr. Muhammad Ali Musa, from Quetta, Pakistan. I searched in Boraginaceae family and I can't aproximate at least the genus.

Any idea?, thank you.

I'm far from being any expert but I think the flowers resemble an Asperula.    ???
I think the genus is found in Pakistan.

I thought about some Asperula too, but  Asperula should rather have 4 petals, exceptionnaly 5 on some flowers. The plant above only shows flowers with 5 petals.
However I don't know if this would be a trustfully point to describe all Asperula species.

I also see something in the Rubiaceae as well. The Flora of Pakistan has most of the keys online at efloras.org. If it is Rubiaceae, the 5 petals should make the keying slightly easier.
