I found this very odd caterpillar type thingie eating a cyclamen leaf. It has exceptional camouflage . Can anyone ID please

I'm very tempted to say that it's this :

Percival the plain little caterpillar ;D ;)
but I think it may be a type of "looper" caterpillar - I believe they're in the Geometridae section of moths..... Anthony will know.

It looks like you are on the right track there Maggi. Though I would have preferred it to be Percival ;D

Looper caterpillars belong to the family Geometridae. Many feed in trees and shrubs, but some will feed on just about anything. Difficult to ID though without taking it through to the moth.
