Title: UK Orchids 2014
Post by: SteveC2 on April 10, 2014, 03:29:52 PM
It's that time of year again folks!  The early Early Purple Orchids (Orchis mascula) are out in South Lincolnshire, and if they are out here then it is a fair bet that they are out elsewhere, and so it's time to come out of hibernation and start hunting.
Big stunning plants showing all the variation in leaf pattern, plain green, small spots, more spot than green.

My local ones are not out yet.   Or put it another way I cannot see the flower spikes as I drive past them.
