Post by: Maggi Young on March 28, 2014, 05:07:30 PM
A number of short videos from Peter Donaldson (http://vimeo.com/user8668134) on  various  plant matters -  on Joseph Hooker's plant explorations and the Himalayas.

"Peter is an Australian filmmaker producing a multiyear documentary project which follows the explorations of the great British botanist Sir Joseph Hooker through the Himalayas, the Antarctic, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. The project aims to show the contributions Hooker made to the Theories of Evolution, Gondwana, the debate on Climate Change and biogeography."
Titles for example:

Thanks  for a great link Maggi, I have always loved reading about his travels and to be able to watch will be a real treat, but not today, the sun is shining and I' m sitting looking and smelling my R.fragrantissimum.
What a treat Good Friday and sunshine.

Likewise I have been enjoying the scent of Rh.fragrantissimum for the past couple of days.  The scent hits you when you open the front door although it is two rooms away in the dining room.  Prior to this I had Lady Alice Fitzwilliam in its place for about a fortnight but the flowers have now fallen...boo hoo !
