Title: Is this a large trough?

The "un-nickable", would not fit in the boot!!!!!!!!!!!!

By George, that is a large trough - unless the lady is unusually petite.
You'd need a stepladder to plant it.  Wonder what it was originally? Even on the high side to be a horse trough, isn't it?

I think you'll be safe enough, Mike - it seems Josie is taller than I am - so, in my book, tall so that does have to be a true whopper of a trough.

Could have been a water cistern?
Sometimes big houses had a filtering system in place using sand
