A kind CGS member that lives locally to me called last sunday morning, and left me a gift of Osterhouw or is it Oosterhouw ......help would be appreciated as to the correct spelling
-
I have no idea but could it be named after this place http://www.oosterhouw.nl/ (http://www.oosterhouw.nl/) ?
-
I suspect you are correct, Alan. There 's a Galanthus nivalis 'Oosterhouw' which was named around 2002..... edit - yes, I found it .... " found by Gert-Jan Van der Kolk in the garden of Klaas North House in Leens."
Info found in a pdf of Dutch 'drops, accessible from this post in the Flemish Forum

This should give you the option to open the pdf direct :

I can confirm it too.
I have visited the place more than once. It is a lovely old garden.
