After visiting the Hepatica site I took the opportunity to go to the Schweineberg (pig mountain) near Hameln
to look for spring snowflakes. These are growing within a beech forest in a 170 ha nature reserve. It is most
obviously the largest occurence of this plant in northern Germany.

Oh!! Such pictures, Gerd - a real delight to see these, thank you!
-
fantastic, Gerd!

How wonderful to see these growing in such profusion! The gentleman on the left of the photographers pictures, looks exactly like many NZ men as they wait - patiently? - for their wives to take pictures at events such as the annual Trillium weekend. Even his frontage bears a close resemblance. :o :D

That would be the Brewer's Goitre you are referring to?
-
It would Ralph. I've not heard that expression before but it's apt except that goitre is from too little (iron?) whereas this phenomenon is definitely from too much (beer) ;D and very prevalent among NZ and Australian men. Not funny really and almost impossible to get rid of.

Thanks for kind remarks alltogether!
Concerning the gentleman and his eminent frontside it seems this is a result of lifestyle habits in affluent societies and not a result of too much waiting. ;)
