That's good news - I know how popular this event is so it will be entered into a lot of diaries.

Sadly it clashes with The Cyclamen Society Committee meeting - usually on a Saturday.

Hope the sun shines for you.

Oh dear, pity about that clash of dates - terribly hard to avoid these things, I know. I know you'll be sorry to miss the bulb sale, Art - a lost chance of retail therapy, eh?  ;)

A delightful afternoon yesterday at the Alpine Garden Society Bulb Sale in Flowton Ipswich.

Some wonderful snowdrops up for auction:
Carolyn Elwes
Mother Goose
Dainty Maid (Glen Chantry newbie!) et al

In addition, a chance to meet some of the great and the good of the snowdrop world, John Morley, Rod Leeds, Margaret MacLennan, Sue Staines and her 'assistant'  ;D and our own Alan-B!

Well worth a visit next year as part of the snowdrop calendar.

Brian and David were there also and David was taking pictures as usual - so he might be persuaded to show some.  And there were several other SRGC-forumists and/or snowdrop luminaries present.

I looked for you, Chas, because months and months ago you said that you were hoping to attend.  But the venue was over an hour's drive from Cambridge so it would have been a long journey for you.

Oh, Chas, what a shame - you said in January you hoped to go   ..... in the other thread for this event - which I'm now combining with this one.

Well apart from seeing all these lovely snowdrop people I found the lady who has Galanthus 'Fanny' named for her, and that was almost enough!  It was a great pity someone forgot all about it and that the Curtis family were absent...hope you are all recovered now.  A good venue as it was only three miles from the A14 yet in the middle of the countryside and a chance to pick up some plants from Edrom et al.

I managed to buy Moya's Green and Moreton Mill, so went home a happy bunny. The purse couldn't quite stretch to the £195 bid for Mother Goose.
A perfect way to spend an afternoon, lovely weather, good company and plenty of cake, you would have enjoyed it Maggi!

Yes, free cake and drink in fact.  Worth the visit for that alone!

Note particularly for ChasW -  it's tomorrow, Chas, are you remembering?

Sunday August 23rd 2015   2pm

"27th Annual Bulb Sale. At Peppers Farm, Forry’s Green, Sible Hedingham, near Halsted, Essex CO9 3RP in the garden of Pam Turtle.

Thank you Pam for having us back again-it is much appreciated

The bulb sale is an enjoyable social event as well as an opportunity to purchase bulbs not readily available elsewhere. This event keeps the Mid-Anglia group afloat and allows us to invite speakers from far and wide, as you can see from 2015 programme.

Please come along and bring bulbs to sell (50/50) if you have a few to spare.

Friends and family welcome.

There is plenty of parking and free refreshments.

The guest nursery this year will be "Wildside" from Devon - Keith and Ros Wiley."
