There will not be a 2014 Galanthus Gala and its not been an easy decision.
There may be just a plant sale or similar event at the nursery or somewhere close to the nursery on the 15th February instead.
Details of which will (hopefully) appear on the Monksilver website.
Joe has been trying to find a venue for 2014 Gala and just can't get into any of the gardens he wants. As he hasn't found a garden by now, then it is going to be too much to organise it in time and it's not fair to keep people hanging on

Sad news for all the galanthophiles, Mark, but good of Joe, through you, to confirm the situation
when there are so many interested persons waiting for information.
Note from Monksilver : Spring Thing- Sat. March 9th 2014 10am to 4 pm at the nursery.

Yes, sad that there wont be one
-
Oh sad times , but nice to know what's going on .
-
Oh dear ,that narrows it down to one event for me then :(

It must be very disappointing for all the sellers too, I shall miss my visit to Rudi Bauer's stand!

This is very disappointing news, although at least we know for certain now. Mark, please convey my thanks to Joe for letting us know.
I have half a mind to try to organize some small-scale alternative - if only to keep the social aspect going. I fear the Gala may have become a victim of its own success, attracting so many attendees that finding gardens to visit became an impossible task.
Edited to correct a typo

Mark, please convey my thinks to Joe for letting us know.
I will

I'm going to chat to the lady who runs the Shaftesbury snowdrop festival and see what she has planned for that day . I'm meeting up with her on Thursday , I will let you know if there is anything exciting happening or if we can arrange something perhaps

And we know what happened next, Emma.
I noticed yesterday that the Monksilver Nursery web site http://www.monksilvernursery.co.uk/ (http://www.monksilvernursery.co.uk/) has finally got round to an 'official' announcement that 'there will be no Gala in 2014'.
