Received this one as Corydalis sp. ex CY Any idea as to which species it might be?

It looks very much like temulifolia. And the temulifolia "Chocolate Stars" looks very much like sheareri. You might try the FOC key starting at section Asterostigma; http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=317336#KEY-1-2 (http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=317336#KEY-1-2).
