As it is really difficult - should I say impossible - to import native terrestrial orchids from Australia due to extremely high costs of permits, I would like to know if someone on this forum had tubers to sell... Pterostylis, Thelymitra, Caladenia, any australian species...
Or does anybody know a way to import - LEGALLY - orchids from Australia ?

I believe that quite a number are already here in the hands of collectors. Seed is an easier way to import if you know how to grow it. Ranveig and Bob Wallises son has a busines growing them for sale. "Orchid Alchemy"?

Yea probably... that's why I asked if someone has extra tubers to sell ;)
I'm already doing it from seeds, but it's not the easiest way ;)
WHere can I find B and R Wallises ? Is there a website ?

Google to the rescue http://www.orchidalchemy.com/ (http://www.orchidalchemy.com/)
Not sure if that's the right business, though; run by:

That's why I asked... I saw no relation between orchid alchemy and the Wallises... ???
-
Andrew Bannister is Bob and Rannveig's son-in-law

Ok, now I understand ;) Thanks :)

Legally yes, but that only works with a CITES certificate costing £ 60, around 100 CHF nowadays, and then there is the new high import tax :(
France does not need cites....where in La Suisse do you live?

For Switzerland, I need CITES and phytosanitary certificate...
-
there is no longer any need for a phytosanitary certificate to import plants into switzerland, since 2009 I believe. the only thing that customs need is a clear list of species names on the outside of the box to certify that they are not CITES plants.

This is the last info I got from the competent office, october 2013 :
In-vitro plants, in sterile tubes, produced in EU : no permits needed
Same, but coming from outside the EU : phytosanitary certificate
Plants produced artificially, bare roots, produced in EU : phytosanitary certificate
Same, but coming from outside the EU : CITES and phytosanitary
Wild collected plants, coming from EU : CITES and import permit
Same, but coming from outside the EU : CITES, phytosanitary and import permit

ah yes for orchids it may be different, what i meant was that if I import lilium bulbs or lets say trillium from the UK into Switzerland, before I needed to pay for a phytosanitary certificate for those as well, bu now I no longer need to..
