Title: probably killed my Thalictrum tuberosum
Post by: mark smyth on October 18, 2013, 12:35:49 AM
I've probably killed my Thalictrum tuberosum  :'(

I lifted it to make way for other bulbs and expected to find bulbs of some sort. I found no bulbs and I've broken all the main roots. What will I do with it now?

Hi Mark,
I've never unpotted mine - I've only managed to germinate one so far and I'm not taking any chances with it! If it sets seed I'll try to catch some to send you (along with some others I'd promised!).
As for the roots you've dug up - they may yet sprout shoots if you reliant them somewhere suitable - or maybe treat them as root cuttings
cheers
fermi

I repot mine regularly and the tubers are very similar to Ranunculus asiaticus. Growth is also quite similar in that they are dormant after flowering.
