Title: Tree seedpod

Can anyone please identify this (temperate) tree seedpod, even approximately?
Unfortunately I have no information about leaf, bark or other characteristics.

Not right for a Rhododendron - any idea of the size of it, Ashley?

Each 'finger' is about 5 cm long Maggi, so the whole thing is fairly large.

Don't they usually have more outer segments?
