Found a wonderful bright red pod of seed on a Podophyllum at the late Mavis Allanson's garden yeaterday. I think it was P. hexandra so I've checked out the net for instructions as I've never had this seed before. One article for P. said turtle ingested seed grew better, a bit problematic in suburban Bury ;D. The 'Stupid Gardener' suggestested covering seed in nearly boiling water for 2 minutes then covering the seed with sulfur before sowing. Has anyone any other methods I ought to consider befor the turtle hunt ::)

Kristl has said in the forum that while " there are some folks who believe that Podophyllum seed is ephemeral---I know this is not the case with P. hexandrum (emodi), which actually benefits from 6 months+ dry storage".

Well ziplock bag half filled with vermiculite and watered gently and placed in airing cupboard. Hope I live long enough to see them flower. Many thanks to Kristl for the advice which Maggi directed me to,
