1st September; windy, overcast and cool. Leave Berwick on Tweed and cross Scottish Border! Visit Cambo Gardens in Fife - some interesting prairie planting going on here.

Tuesday 3rd September; hot and sunny! Visit to Leith Hall Garden in Aberdeenshire. Lovely well maintained garden open every day. Tip: there is a productive vegetable garden and you can leave with a big bag of veggies for "a donation at your discretion" into the honesty box. We got some nice green beans and courgettes.

A couple of Aberdeenshire signs that always amuse me...

Finally, no trip would be complete without a couple of Munros, while age and infirmity still just about allow! Cairn Gorm and Ben Macdui, Thursday 5th September. Glorious weather for the hills, and we encountered the Cairngorm reindeer herd on the way down (but still at 1100m).
