Title: Eggs on chives

A friend has plenty of small reddish eggs on his chives,looking a bit like those of the lily beetle.I know that they feed also on fritillarias but not on chives.Is it the same sp.?If not was is it please?

Can't help with that one John but hard-boiled eggs mashed with chopped chives and parsley and a little salt and pepper, (maybe a little cream too) make a super sandwich filling. :D

Are you sure they are eggs and not rust spots. We get Rust on most Alliums these days.

Shouldn't think so - are there any larvae covered in sticky black excrement?

A google search shows a couple of articles referring to lily beetles on chives. They are welcome to my chives if they stay off my frits and lilies.
