Title: Iris typhifolia

This species flowered for me for the first time this year. Just one flower though.

A very good start.
  Yours is more blue than my much older plant.
I am envious.

They are both lovely. I find it is easy to germinate the seeds (from an Iris list) but they die off when I pot them up. I'll try my new technique of sowing a couple of seeds actually in individual pots rather than the lot in one pot, then they won't need disturbing. I may even try a few in the garden where I want them but this is a gamble now that we have some chooks (chickens) who eat an incredible variety of "alpine" or other desirable seeds.
