Earliest every year is Eremurus cristatus from surroundings of Bishkek
Surprisingly early blooms Eremurus lactiflorus from Uzbekistan

Usually I'm not collecting their seeds - growing them for fun...

Eremurus himalaicus blooming today and another unidentified species from Kazahstan with comparatively narrow glossy green leaves grown up from Archibalds seeds.

I grew outside E. cristatus and E. robustus. Never tried himalaicus, but it must grow well. Of course in earlier years I grew hybrids, too but at oresent I haven't them more. Few unfavourable winters killed them all and I had them only on open beds without extra protection.
