Title: Snowdrop ID
Post by: Martinr on April 26, 2013, 07:49:38 PM
The drop below belongs to a friend who has lost the label. I'm no galanthophile. Can someone guess an identity?

Sorry, not a very helpful comment.  I presume it's an elwesii but as you don't show the leaves in the photo we don't know.  The mark on the inner petals looks quite distinct but as I do not have one like it in my own small collection no name springs to mind (except the imagined one formed by my visual impression).  Can your friend perhaps help with some clues, such as where it came from or possible names?

Thanks Alan (I think). I'm afraid there is no more information available.

Martin, in case somebody more knowledgeable drops by, can you at least identify the species?  If I'm right and it's an elwesii then the supervolute (tulip-like) leaves should be readily apparent.
