Title: New Terminology
Post by: shelagh on April 24, 2013, 07:57:11 PM
Followed a van today which offered all sorts of gardening expertise including "Tree Lobbing" tell me is this a new eco friendly/politically correct way of advertising "Tossing the Caber" ::) or just poor spelling ;D

Down our way we seem to have 'tree truncating' and the results are a sore sight for the eyes. At 'Gardener's Question Time' down here Matthew Wilson described pruning simply and beautifully as reducing the plant but keeping the same balance. How is it that this concept seems so alien to quite a lot of 'tree lobbers'?

Perhaps they are the ones who 'lob' the bits of pruned trees into the lay-bys and passing places along our lane.

In our local fishmonger there is a professionally made sign that says "free cutting and filleting". ::) Lost in translation? :-\
