Title: Colchicum species from Turkey
Post by: Otto Fauser on March 24, 2013, 04:35:36 AM
I raised this small ,deeply coloured ,autumn flowering Colch. from seed that was collected by the ACW expedition in the 1960s in Turkey ( unfortunately can't read the Collectors Number any more ). Fairly smallish leaves in winter/spring . Would someone be able to put a name to it . Could it be C. turcicum ??       many thanks , Otto.

Do the leaves appear after flowering or do they already show during flowering? The colour form seems to be excellent  :)

Hi Otto,

Amazing colour! But identification will probably be difficult. Any idea where exactly it was collected or which part of Turkey was targeted by the ACW expedition?
