Sam Sutherland, the Show Secretary, sends his greetings and hopes to welcome a great many Members and visitors to this event. Sam's like the rest of us - he's worrying about the weather- this is always a matter of particular concern to Show Secretaries, of course!
Good luck Sam- and here's to a great Show!

Because of the nasty weather conditions around, here is an update from Kincardine Show Secretary Sam Sutherland about tomorrow's SRGC Show :
...... it's very cold and windy, the odd snow flurry but no snow on the roads or ground.
I got a call this morning from Neil Huntly he told me about the East Lancs show but he said he will still try to come to Kincardine.
Ardfearn phoned to say they were on their way.
Hopefully things will be ok,
Sam

Glad to see you both made it both to and from the show, Stan!
Well done Cyril for another Forrest Medal.

more award winners in section 1
-
Sue Simpson also showed a Pulsatilla which helped her win section 2
-
Crikey! I'm amazed that Sue Simpson managed to get to Kincardine- the snow is so bad in the South West I thought for sure they'd not make it. That's worth a prize in itself!

the show was very colourful as so many early bulbs were still in flower

A note of thanks from Show Secretary Sam Sutherland :
Hi Maggi, just a quick mail about the show yesterday.
It was a great show with a lot more entries than I thought there would have been -
people battled the weather to come from all corners, some having tricky driving conditions but still managed to get through.
Plenty of great quality plants on the benches even with the conditions we've had.
Would you post a thank you on the forum to thank everyone for their efforts in making it a great show ?
Cheers,
Sam
I'm happy to do so, Sam- and I think we all echo your thanks to all concerned- including yourself!

Hello, thanks for posting all the pictures from the show and I enjoyed it great to see all the flowers especially on such a winters day. I drove through some deep snowdrifts on the way but just fed up being shut in the house and clearing snow at home. A big thank you to Sam and the ladies in the tea rooms very welcome bacon butties and hot soup, even managed to get a red ticket or two, cheers Ian the Christie kind.

Thought the show excellent despite the bitter cold. Some nice plants, particularly liked Cyril's Pulsatilla aff. vulgaris - the pale colour of the symmetrically outward facing flowers was set within an almost shimmering effect of the new foliage - lovely. Very impressed with the RBG display too.
Well done, Sam - great show!!
-
Wake up Lizz, I want to demonstrate my ventriloquism skill on camera. "Gottle of geer!".
-
finally the nurseries and food -ably supplied by the two girls in the black from the local cafe
