I couldn't see a birthday 2013 thread but David Nicholson has a special birthday today that shouldn't be overlooked...
Happy Birthday David
and also Rafa & Alan McM

Many happy returns, Mr. N. ... I've got to say that you look wonderful for an octogenarian!!! Take care, no bunting on your zimmer.

David & Rafa - Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday David, have a nice glass of 7up on me ;D ;D ;D

Many thanks Gail, Cliff, Gerry and Michael and many thanks for The Forum electronic card Maggi and Ian.
Cliff if I do do get to be an octogenerian I'm going to have one of those motorised jobs with a Ferrari badge and a personalised number plate!
Lovely day out with friends today, top class lunch out, and as I didn't have to drive a bottle of red all to myself (I've given the 7UP up Michael, too much sugar and it's bad for you!) You'd have loved my desert Maggi-chocolate brownie, topped with chocolate ice cream, and a little jug of hot chocolate sauce, and the plate came with "Happy 70th Birthday" written in chocolate icing. Try to get a pic tomorrow. Then to the cinema, where I wanted to see"Django" but no-one else did so settled for "Les Mis". I have to say that I normally fall asleep in the cinema but managed to stay awake and, with a bit of prompting managed to follow the story. Was a bit surprised to find out that Hugh Jackman wasn't the bloke who played the Duke in Downton Abbey though, and that Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter had both been in it and I hadn't recognised either of 'em.
Dinner in Dartmouth with the family, both kids coming home to see their old Dad, tomorrow evening, no doubt lots more red and an equally fattening desert.

David happy birthday, hope it's not to late and you are tucked up in bed. 70 years old and still as bright as a twenty year old ;) :-*
Angie :)

One day late, but from what I read, you still have some festivities coming David !
So, many happy returns my friend and santé !

Many thanks Angie and Luc.

Beautifully presented pudding- far too pretty to eat, surely?
P.S. No photo of you licking the plate to get the writing off?

Accepted. :)

Thank you Anthony, we Yorkshiremen are so polite and gentile to our fellow beings. Unlike, of course, those southern softies masquerading as Lancastrians. So course and vulgar I find them ;D

I'm so happy that lovely friends visited the other day - bearing a very large chocolate cake - apart that their visit and kindness did both Ian and I the world of good, ( it's a long story!) it has meant that with the great number of Forumists birthdays around this time, we are able to celebrate these happy events with cake!
Happy birthday to them all!
-
Maggi - I think both you and Ian deserve a really good chocolate cake from all of us Forumist's too! On the other hand perhaps you are eating too much chocolate - a good carrot cake instead! As my daughter's birthday is just coming up I agree wholeheartedly with any celebrations.
-
Tim, you are quite right- there are enormous amounts of chocolate consumed here- but we are more than happy to eat carrot cake too!
( and the chocolate is our only vice- honest!! ;) ;D )
-
Tim do you think that anyone can eat to much chocolate :o Chocolate gives you that happy feeling and with this miserable weather its needed.
Maggi you could have given me a shout if it was a very big chocolate cake there was no way you and Ian would have managed to eat it all, I could have helped out ;)
Angie :)
-
Angela, if you come by for a coffee tomorrow morning, there is still some left - it was a VERY big cake!
-
No Angie - but the problem is when you have a daughter who keeps discovering your secret supplies (or as she would say, vice versa!).
-
Tim I am so glad my hubby doesn't like sweet things. I can eat a whole bar of chocolate to myself ;D
Maggi thats a nice offer but hospital appointment with hubby tomorrow. Will think of you having to force the rest of that chocolate cake down ;)
Angie :)

I did start a Happy Birthday 2013 for David's 70th but seem to have managed to put it in the wrong section - perhaps Maggi could work her magic?
