Galanthus surprises
Here the Galanthus pictures which are maybe wrong labelled
The parcel arrived a few years ago with completely rotten newspapers and labels all over the parcel
please confirm names if they are correct
or if you find any mistakes please let me know
so I can edit the names
The names from what I think they belonged to the plants are under the pictures
Thanks in advance for any remarks

The Galanthus gracilis looks wrong, the leaves should be thinner and more twisted.
As mentioned on the other thread Ophelia looks wrongly labelled, should be more double shaped and smaller ovary?
I'm no expert, so these are just guesses.
-
My 'Robin Hood' (from Rod Leeds) looks to have different markings.
-
Thanks Gail
I cross the name
now to find the real name

Hello Lesley
I thought just that the Lady Beatrix Stanley looked right
but honestly there are so many pictures on internet
that I prefer a confirmation
maybe one of the other know
Thanks

Roland
Lady Beatrix Stanley looks to be correct - nice clump forming for me.
-
Thanks art
I make a marking

Daphne's Scissors is correct. gracilis looks like Sutton Courtenay
-
Hill Poe isn't
-
Mrs Backhouse no. 12 isnt but it looks great. When you find the name we must swap
-
Thanks Mark
I will fill it in

Ophelia should be a double. Mighty Atom may simply be elwesii monostictus or elwesii Comet
-
Hi Mark
Sure Ophelia is a double one and I have no idea what it can be
Galanthus Mighty Atom looks as many of my elwesii monostictus
but I didn't know the parent selection from Mighty Atom
sure these leaves are from elwesii
-
That's a lot of snowdrops. It would help to divide them up into classes, doubles, yellows etc. For example, you have two yellows amongst the set that I can spot and I think you have them the right way round because 'Wendy's Gold' has a fuller marking than 'Spindlestone Surprise'.
-
I think the same Alan
but I am not a snowdrop specialist
just hobby
and chose one or two ok
but I have about fifty maybe wrong ones
that's a real challenge

Roland you can compare your snowdrops against those on my web site http://www.snowdropinfo.com/galanthusgallery.htm (http://www.snowdropinfo.com/galanthusgallery.htm)
-
And mine - note that not all G gracilis have very slender leaves.

Thanks
will do tonight
first I have to clean the barn :(
