Title: Unknown Broadleafed evergreen

Need help with this one that was given to a local hort school with no tag.

SRGC seeds arrived today  - big bonanza.

No idea at all. I like those buds in the top image. They look very munchable. :)

Viburnum, but which species I am not sure. Something in the Megalotinus group would be the most likely place to look. Flora of China might help in this case.

Viburnum tinus,
By the color of the fruits it is probably the cultivar 'Purpureum"

Yes Oron, just what I was thinking.  It got to about 6ft after 10 years in our garden.
