Finishing tonight – our LAST narcissus listings for this year, and the final opportunity to obtain the snowdrops listed.
Our daffodils include three varieties NEW this year:
Brian Duncan’s bright and breezy WINNING TRY, brings that rare orange colouring into the world of miniatures.
Dryad’s own GRACIE, charms with its gentle colour changing corona, which opens clear lemon and matures to white with a lemon base and rim.
PUPINA has engaging little short-cupped, scented flowers in white and lemon, the slightly longer stems making it perfect for cutting, but also making a wonderful display in pots or containers.
These three newcomers are accompanied by two of Brian’s classic cyclamineus winners:
WEE NOD is aptly named with its demurely nodding, swept-back flowers and cool colour scheme. This lovely cultivar is a favourite addition to Brian’s prize-winning showbench collections.
Finally – the multi-award winning SLEEK, which always causes a sensation when exhibited, with its snappy, slicked-back perianth and perky, flared and fringed corona. A sure winner on the showbench, it is always in high demand, and short supply.
Our snowdrops tonight are the final offering of these varieties – no less than four of our prized DRYAD GOLD GROUP, two from our MYTHS AND LEGENDS series, and an eyecatching little German contribution.
DRYAD JUPITER brings its sturdy constitution and substantial flowers to the party, the outer segments flicked up at the edges, and the longitudinal corrugations forming its distinctive ‘crown’.
DRYAD ECHO’s pale ‘echo’ spot above the dark green sinus arc makes it one of the most easily identified varieties. It makes large bulbs which increase well.
DRYAD GOLD BULLION is one of our most popular varieties, not least because of its fast increase and free flowering, neat habit.
DRYAD GOLD CHARM’s remarkably long, elegant buds are a great favourite here, and its large bulbs increase well.
DRYAD GOLD NUGGET, like its sister BULLION, has small, compact bulbs which quickly bulk up and cute little rounded flowers with the contrasting yellow ovary and sharp, acid-green inner mark.
DRYAD GOLD STANDARD, one of our latest additions to the group, has large, refined flowers, whose outer segments incurve gently to produce a quilling effect as the flower matures.
The last snowdrop in this, our penultimate session for 2021, is Hagen Engelmann’s DAS GELBE VOM EI – an improved ‘Blonde Inge’ type with good contrast between to deep yellow mark and green ovary.
As usual, you can find them all here:
