They're short bloomers but i like their colors
sadely i missed the flower fully opened :-\
-
I always find them underrated, Yann !
They're quite attractive flowers !
-
Another one from Sardinia, Romulea ligustica
-
Few days later, mine is also blooming
-
Romulea bulbocodium (var. leichtlinii)
From SRGC seed exchange 70. There was no var but it should be this one.
-
Romulea columnae subsp. subalbida
From Corsica, same scale than Romulea bulbocodium ! This is a very small one :)
-
And Romulea ligustica is still flowering ;D
-
I have these (Romulea bulbocodium) growing in a sand bed. DO THEY SEED ABOUT. Nice flowers but controlling them is a problem. Are they better with more competition? I have the yellow form now in a pot; with last years seed pods. Not sure what to do with it/them. Ideas please.

Some more Romulea
Romulea ramiflora
was labelled Romulea bulbocodium but its short style and smaller flower indicate Romulea ramiflora
-
Romulea requienii from Corsica with such an intense purple
first picture, this morning.
-
Romulea rollii, from Corsica too
A bit bigger than columnae, but still small.
-
And a close up of Romulea columnae, this one is slightly pink
-
and just before the winter really start, Romulea cyrenaica, a species from Libya.
