Crinum 2020

Yesterday Crinum yuccaeides bloomed for its one day per year.  #2117, grown from seeds from the 2006 International Bulb Society SX.  The parents of these seeds were wild collected in the Cameroon, in Africa, probably by Dr. David Lehmiller.  First bloomed in 2019.  Large flower but not a large plant, this is growing in a 2 gal./ ca. 7 Liter pot.  This is my only surviving bulb of this species.

Crinum hardyi is blooming today, in the rain.  This plant, #2214, is the last survivor from a batch of seeds received from the 2007 International Bulb Society Seed Exchange.  The seeds were from plants collected in the wild in Madagascar by Dr. David Lehmiller.  His collection data were as follows:
