unknown Compositae

mark smyth:
I was given a plant of this beauty while in Dublin - 3rd time in three weeks. It's ground hugging and seems to seed around. The flowering stem rises a few cm above the mat of leaves. The flower darkens with age to deep pink

Lesley Cox:
Mark it would help if there were some foliage shown or even the whole plant. There's Chrysanthemum catananche but the white parts of that should be closer to cream I think and then there are two or three Leucanthemum forms or hybrids which have that slightly murky pink ring around the disc. There's a hybrid between Rhodanthemum mawii and something else which is matlike rather than bushy like its parent, and so on.

mark smyth:
until tomorrow when I will take a close up of my plant here it is in the scree in the owners garden

mark smyth:
I googled it and found one similar flower. It comes from Morocco so maybe I'll have to keep it iin a pot

Lesley Cox:
Looks like what I have as Leucanthemum alpinum x Rhodanthemum mawii (or vv) but not sure of correct name for the former now.
