Bulb Log 01 2014 - 01/01/14
« on: January 03, 2014, 04:25:07 PM »
Year 2014 Bulb Log has just started on New Year’s Day! I'm impressed by that you are carrying on this weekly blog for many years, Ian.

It’s great fun to see the first flowers from seed for me, too. The results are not always satisfactory, but such disappointments give me another motivation to challenge sowing new seeds. When I sow the seeds, I every time ask to myself that ‘How many times can I sow seed and see its flowers?’. So I’m trying to cherish every plant stock that I'm growing... Perhaps the Bulb Log was same as a small seed when you sowed it? ;)

Tatsuo, you are so correct - if there is just one lesson I can pass on it is to grow from seed.

Not all the seedlings will be exceptional but all are interesting.
When I sowed the Bulb Log seed I expected an annual to germinate but it turned out to be a perennial that grew.

Hi Ian, the beautiful frosting on the bonnet of your wee blue car looks like part of a precious Faberge treasure.
