Enjoyed looking at your art Ian. If art is making the non-seeing see you've achieved it, but speaking as one whose artistic ability (the other member of the family always moans about me planting everything in rows ???) is nil I very much depend on prompts from those who have it.

Anne, you have an artistic mind -I have seen some of your wonderful paintings.

Really fascinating log Ian - I have just been reading Roger Deakin's book 'Wildwood', and in one chapter he talks about an Australian artist capturing the arid fire-prone landscape in a way I would never have thought of, just by brushing art paper over plants after a fire and then adding intricate drawings of insects and wildlife onto the impression. Similar but different to how you describe drawing ideas from the surroundings and how these change.
