Plants of Trinidad October 2007

(1/2) > >>

Anthony Darby:
Here's the first of my pics from Trinidad. The first lot come from my host's 'garden'. First an orchid that was growing up an introduced Delonix regia; this bush had pink bracts and small yellow flowers; 'cucumber' flower and pod; Passiflora sp. and flower; a nice inflorescence; cocoa flower; cocoa pods x 2.

Rob:
That Passiflora puts mine to shame

Your pic sizes are all over, one is over 1200 pixels wide and I have to scroll across the screen

Edit: I've reduced them! Maggi  :(

I'm looking forward to the rest of the thread

Lesley Cox:
Me too Rob. And guess who it is who complains when someone posts pics that are too big to be seen without scrolling? ;D ;D

I like the Passiflora as well. Nearly as hairy as the arm that's holding it up. What are those big red pods? Cocoa maybe?

mark smyth:
Lesley he already says that

Anthony Darby:
Sorry, I'll reduce the next lot. The cocoa pods came is yellow and red. The yellow ones have substance which resembles and tastes like lemon yoghurt covering the seeds. I brought three home. Here's some more: unripe coffee 'cherries'; an ephiphytic succulent; ferns; bromeliads and moss; bromeliads and a climbing fern; bromeliads and a branch of a bread-fruit tree; epiphytic ferns; Heliconia sp.; more cocoa pods and another epiphyte. Again, these are all in the plot above the house in which I was staying.
[I've fixed these. too.. Maggi]
