You have a wonderful plant to remind you of Jan.

Years ago,  10-15, maybe even longer. (I really don't remember), but I regret not getting the seeds. He had a special Coum and  I don't even recall what it looked like but it was so different. Maybe it had swirled colors mixed or bi color petals.

I'm also curious about how the dark purple hederifolium came about? I think my very dark purple died, but still have a nice red.

Looked through pictures of dark purple hederifolium that I had saved, and this was the best of the dark purple plants that I had. Most were different shades of a darker pink, and some reds. I think I lost this one. Pictures are from 2011.

Cyclamen rohlfsianum from seeds collected in Lybia, this species is a bit tricky to grow but it worth the learning curve of the watering regime.

Some years ago I got Cyclamen purpurascens corms from a kind forumist  :). Plants are doing well here, even after last difficult winter (when I lost all C.coum plants), and flowered in July-August.
Here are some nice leaves couple of days ago.

Hello Yann. Please could you enlighten me on the watering regime for C. rolfsianum as I have 1 year old seedling and its leaf has yellowed? Thanks

Hi Erle,
Here are some pictures and observations of my C. rohlfsianum- possibly my favourite species.

In general, it should be left to bake and only gets water when the first signs of life are showing- flower buds, or emerging leaves

708212-0

emerging life from not watered corm

A younger plant got watered earlier in the season when I was watering the tomatoes, and it sprang into life:

708214-1

My oldest plant ( from seed from chiltern seeds in 2009?) started with one early flower:

708216-2

I then watered everything because all species are bursting with flower and life. A 5 year old tuber after one watering:

708218-3

My seedlings have not yet emerged. I usually water the bone dry pots now (October-or when everything else shows that it is time to grow) and see what happens; they live on the drier end of the spectrum. I guess that if you already had a leaf, and it has yellowed, it started a bit early and has been quite wet. If the tuberlet has no leaf to evaporate it needs to dry out so no water at all. I would leave the pot well away from damp and see if anything emerges next October.
hope this helps!

Thank you Bart. I will do as you suggest.
I think some of my cyclamen tubers got too hot in the greenhouse this year although they were under a table. The smaller pots have been very slow to get going.

Your C. rohlfsianum are as lovely as ever, Roma - but, tell us the truth now, you washed that C. graecum in Daz, didn't you?!!  ;D :o
