And most double iris simply have multiple petals, and retain their single calyx and corolla.

This one is hose-in hose style.  It certainly presents a different look

Very different look - like a fancy cup-cake with stylish colouring!

This Iris tucked away in a corner of the greenhouse flowered recently.  It has flowered before but a long time ago. It was from SRGC seed sown in 2006.  The label says Iris wattii but I think it is more likely tectorum. the flowers were about 5 inches across.
