Crocus cancellatus CMW 2649

(1/1)

mark smyth:
I dont know the source for this Crocus but can someone confirm it's ID? Poor photos due to poor weather

Thomas Huber:
Looks like goulimyi !

mark smyth:
Thats what I thought and one that looks sick. All the flowers are the same. They have 'white' stems and extended - is it - sheaths?

tonyg:
White tubes and very long cataphylls (which are often green flecked) - It is C goulimyi ... and yes it does not look too good :(
I am being very ruthless with any plant that looks unhealthy.  Sadly problems can build up in single genus plant collections, mine is no exception.  The recent discusion here about mosaic virus has served to strengthen my resolve to eliminate infected plants ... no matter how precious :'(
