I'm looking for a source for these two plants
Polystichum lonchitis
Ranunculus x Arendsii
?Tigridia

Giles:
Dear Mark,
The fern is usually available in The British Pteridological Society Spore Exchange. (ferns from spores isn't difficult).
You are too late for this season, but worth a try this Autumn.

All the best,

Mark

I picked up some spores (but not of the species you wish) from The British Pteridological Society stand at the Tatton Show. The folk (like all botanically minded folk) couldn't have been more helpfu. Apparently where I'd been going wrong had been in not sterilising the soil by pouring boiling water over it and then letting it cool prior to casting the spores. The Society has a bargain membership at the moment giving a number of additional months to the standard annual subscription.

I got details of all the best fern stockists:

David Nicholson:
Mark, if it is Tigridia pavonia you are after I may have some seed left from last years collection but will need to check.

mark smyth:
